#4: reading

I may have mentioned before (about 23856 times) that I like to read. Really, really, really, REALLY like to read.

I enjoy learning new skills and facts. I appreciate a well constructed sentence. But more than anything, it's the story. I want to forget my problems and escape into a world unlike my own. I want to discover new ideas about myself by reading others. I want a touch of magic. I want to rediscover old story friends in new dressings.

My favorite are retellings of Fairy Tales. Wildwood Dancing, The Princess and the Hound, Snow White and Rose Red - I love the new worlds, and new issues, and new thoughts these stories present to me.

*I'm always looking for new good books. Anyone have some recommendations for me? Even if you think I've read it, chime in. I'd love ya forever!

  1. Ok I think it is so fun that this post and Happy Mom's post came out the same day! I love how much you love to read. You have always been one to get lost in books. Someday (maybe you all ready have) but I would be curious like your top 50 books. 10 is not enough for your list :D Love you lots!!

  2. Here are the books I have read so far this year that I have liked: Lemon Tart (I know you have read that one), Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society, Graceling, Dragon Slippers, The House At Riverton. I would recommend all of these books. And that is so funny that you and Happy Mom posted about reading on the same day! I love reading too and I am trying to do more of it this year because it makes me happy!

  4. Never enough time. I'm kind of stuck in the Scriptures right now. That's a good thing, but I'm craving something new and different.
