#17: Hot Chocolate

Is there anything better than curling up with a steaming mug of hot chocolate and a great book when the wind is howling outside?

I don't think so. I love a good cup of hot chocolate. I sometimes make my own. Sometimes I use whatever I can. But a good steaming cup can make the whole day better.

Anyone have an AMAZING cocoa recipe for me to try?

  1. No amazing recipe, but my favorite mix: Caotina. It's Swiss and hard to come by, made with milk, and absolutely the standard by which all other hot chocolate mixes should be measured. It's supremely dissolvable, extremely chocolaty without being overly sweet, and we order it by the case. Finally, someone in the states imports it and we order from them, but we used to (ahem) order it directly from Switzerland. And pay the shipping, which was more than the cost of the Caotina . . . but, oh, so worth it.

The first time we had it was at the revolving restaurant at the top of the Jungfrau (enormous mountain, snow-covered year round) near Lauterbrunnen and it was divine.
